Fire ignites at a business in Cathedral City

A Cathedral City street is filled with firefighters and police following a fire at a business Thursday night.

The business is located on the 31900 block of Avenida El Pueblo, just north of Ramon Road.

Witnesses said they saw flames coming out of the auto shop they live across the street from. Witnesses added that the building is a residential home that was turned into a business.

According to firefighters, several rooms were destroyed.

The flames appear to be out, however, crews remain on scene investigating the building. As of 10:30 p.m., there are three fire engines at the scene and 2 paramedics. Just 30 minutes prior the street was filled with 6 engines.

Avenida El Pueblo remains closed from Ramon Road.
