Storm #1 moves through the Southland

Rain moved into the Coachella Valley this morning and remained light but consistent into the afternoon. Rainfall totals ranged from hundreths of an inch to almost a quarter inch throughout the valley floor.

The Winter Weather Advisory that went into effect Sunday night remains until 4:00 a.m. Tuesday for the San Bernardino Mountains. Travel with caution this holiday week as mountain roads will be slick with more snow on the way.

Tuesday is shaping up to be a great day in the desert with partly cloudy skies and afternoon highs warming into the low and mid 60s. Perfect conditions for those last-minute shopping trips before Christmas.

Storm system #2 arrives Wednesday. First bringing rain to the coast Christmas morning, eventually moving east by the afternoon and evening. More accumulation is expected on Thursday, lingering into Friday morning.
