The Heatwave Lingers a bit Longer

High pressure still controls the weather on the West Coast, keeping us hotter than normal by as much as 10-20 degrees, and the Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect through tomorrow evening.

That area of high pressure begins to slide farther South and East, allowing modestly cooler air to filter in from the West.

Highs today will be close to the record-tying 106 of yesterday (and that is also the record for today).

Progressing into the weekend, that aforementioned trough will push partly cloudy skies into the region and drop daytime highs by about 10 degrees, so a wee bit of relief in sight!
