Staying a few degrees warmer than usual for the holiday weekend
THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – It's another warm one in the Coachella Valley! Notably, we're seeing some more clouds today, but there's still plenty of sunshine and it hasn't stopped us from warming into the upper 70s across much of the valley.

I'm anticipating temperatures a touch warmer than today, likely at 80° on the dot, if not a bit warmer. Still, we get the best of both worlds: cool mornings with gorgeous afternoons. It doesn't get much better than this in the desert.

Our temperature outlook still shows temperatures well above seasonal in the next week or so. We were seeing more orange colors yesterday (indicating highs closer to seasonal), but it appears we'll be a bit warmer than that with the latest models.

High pressure remains firmly fixed through the early parts of the week, keeping our temps in the low 80s and upper 70s. The pattern starts to shift ever so slightly by midweek, where we'll begin to slowly cool thanks to greater influence from a low pressure system moving closer to our area. We've bumped up the numbers a bit for next weekend as we're now looking at highs closer to the mid 70s than low 70s. Lots of sunshine and warmth this week as spring-like conditions persist for our January!
