Excessive Heat for the Rest of the Week

An Excessive Heat Warning will go into effect at Noon today, lasting through Friday evening as highs approach 110.

The Jet Stream will continue to arch Northward, allowing high pressure to build in and keep temperatures 10-15 degrees above normal.

Ozone (O3) trapped under that ridge of high pressure will push our AQI into the "Moderate" range, and may reach "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" before week's end.

Highs over the next several days will approach or even exceed 110, and tomorrow the record is 112, so it may well be in jeopardy.

Take the usual heat precautions, stay hydrated, stay cool, work out doors only in the early morning or late evening. Check pavement temperatures with your hand before walking pets, and never leave a person or pet unattended in your vehicle.
