Video shows bank robbery suspect being arrested in Palm Springs
The Palm Springs Police Department arrested a 25-year-old man accused of trying to rob the Bank of America with a knife on Monday morning.
The bank is located at 588 South Palm Canyon Drive. Officers said they were called to the scene at about 9:10 a.m. Officers said Trevor Troupe of Palm Desert was apprehended before he could get away with any cash.
Viewer Marc McClure was at the bank at the time of the robbery and captured cell phone video of the suspect being taken away in handcuffs.
Troupe was taken to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on charges of attempted robbery and for violating his post-release community supervision; both felonies.
The bank was closed for about two hours following the attempted robbery but has since reopened to customers.
Nobody was injured during the attempted robbery.
