Free BUZZ Trolley will continue to roll through Palm Springs

The Palm Springs City Council voted to extend the one-year pilot program for the free BUZZ Trolley at Wednesday night’s city council meeting.

The pilot program started in December of 2014 and city officials said the successful service will keep on rolling.

The BUZZ runs residents and visitors from as far north as the Riviera Resort, through uptown and downtown, to as far south as the Saguaro Hotel.

“The BUZZ has been a huge hit,” said Mary Jo Ginther, director of the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism. “It’s estimated as many as 5,000 residents and visitors are riding weekly and it’s turned into a tremendous economic driver for the city.”

The BUZZ runs Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and on holidays. The free shuttle service is funded through Measure J.
