Palm Springs offers packed slate of Black History Month events

For Black History Month, Palm Springs will be hosting a series of events across the city.

The "fun and educational events" will be kicking off next week, according the city's news release, which was issued Friday.

A rundown of the events:

  • February 6 - 6 PM - Black History Month Art Collaboration - Palm Springs Art Museum, 101 Museum Drive.
  • February 9 - 2 pm - 4 pm - Black History Month Gospel Fest -
    Desert Highland Unity Center, 480 Tramview Road
  • February 22 - 9 a.m. - Black History Month Men’s Basketball Tournament - Demuth Community Center, 3601 E. Mesquite Ave.
  • February 29 - 11 a.m., 12 p.m. -6 p.m. - 33rd Annual Black History Parade and Town Fair. Parade - along Palm Canyon Drive. Town Fair runs noon to 6 p.m. in Frances Stevens Park on the corner of Palm Canyon Drive and Alejo Road.
