Warming into the weekend

A ridge of high pressure continues to build over the west coast from the west boosting the mercury across Southern California. Saturday will be the hottest day of the week with afternoon highs exceeding 80°.

The heat won't last too long as a trough will change things up for us beginning Sunday. Onshore flow will strengthen across the Southland and create gusty conditions for parts of Riverside county.

A High Wind Watch goes into effect Sunday afternoon through Monday morning, where gusts could reach 60 MPH.

The most significant cooling will take place on Monday as a cold air lingers behind the front. 60s will be with us through Wednesday before we return to the 70s on Thursday.
