Amelia Earhart Elementary students learn about rainbow trout

Third-graders at Amelia Earhart Elementary School in Indio will soon be experts on the life cycle of the Rainbow trout.

Kathy Beach, a teacher at the school, said, “Hands-on learning is important, having them look in the book is boring, personally. For them to go and do the pilot program and do hands-on learning in the classroom everyday to see it.”

Students will go through each stage of the trout’s lifecycles and then the fish will be released in Lake Cahuilla.
