Big plans announced at Indio State of the City Address

A popular Palm Springs Festival will now be calling the city of Indio its home.

One of the announcements at the Indio State of the City address, held on Thursday at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, was that the Tachevah Festival will be heading to the City of Festivals,

The annual address gives the city a chance to talk directly to its residents about what’s happening now and what is in store for the future.

“It’s been a great year last year. It’s been a great year this year. There’s going to be a lot of more exciting things moving forward. The city of Indio is rising up there, and we have a lot investment into our downtown area and along the I-10 corridor. It’s been a great few years and we’re blessed for that,” said Indio Councilmember Glenn Miller.

City leaders also spoke about a new development on the north and south side of I-10, road improvements, a new public library and new businesses coming into town.
