Dozens of family members and friends lined up to greet his body.

Paiz died Monday morning when a water tanker truck he was driving flipped over and off a road. He was born and raised in Mecca, attended Coachella High School and College of the Desert before moving to Missouri and becoming a firefighter. Paiz returned to California to help fellow firefighters save others in the devastation up north.

Paiz’s family confirmed that his funeral will be held on Friday, October 27 at the Destino Church on 82-625 Showcase Pkwy #100 in Indio starting at 10:00 am.
