Congressman Ruiz and Frontier Communications address digital divide

Rep. Raul Ruiz teamed up with Frontier Communications on Thursday to bring high-speed internet access to underserved communities. This is all being done with $228 million in federal funds, that will go toward expanding broadband availability to thousands of households in the 36th Congressional District.

“My office and I have been able to work with Frontier and others to bring high-speed internet for the very first time, to at the moment 500 but in five years 7,000 homes who have never had it in this district, ” said congressman Ruiz.

A ribbon cutting was also held for a brand new computer lab for students at the new Desert Hot Springs Community Health Center.
