Firefighters resuscitate cat in Cathedral City mobile home park fire

Firefighters contained a structure fire that broke out Tuesday morning in Cathedral City.

The fire was reported at 9:16 a.m. at the Desert Sands Mobile Home Community in the 1000 block of Via Grande.

When Cathedral City Fire Department arrived they found heavy smoke and fire at a single residence.

CCFD called for a second alarm which brought support from Palm Springs Fire and Cal Fire out of Rancho Mirage.

Crews kept the flames from spreading to neighboring mobile homes and eventually contained the blaze.

A cat had to be resuscitated for smoke inhalation and no other occupants were injured.

No word on the cause of the fire.
