Winter storm soaks Palm Springs
Monday’s wet weather forced people to dust off their umbrellas and caused roads to be slick and potentially dangerous.

Many moviegoers huddled under awnings to avoid getting soaked.Across the Coachella Valley roads were soaked and folks on foot were forced to do what they could to stay dry.
It was raining and I put my hand in my pocket and that’s what I had and didn’t want to miss out on the good fun in Palm Springs so I put what I had over my head,” said Paul Kipnes, who was walking down Palm Canyon Drive with a map on his head.City officials said they are prepared to shut down flooded roadways when heavier rain comes Tuesday.
They are also telling drivers to avoid areas with deep water.
