Palm Springs flight lands safely in LAX after smoke reported in cockpit

An Alaskan Airlines flight that took off at Palm Springs International Airport and was scheduled to land in San Francisco, was diverted to LAX after smoke was reported in the cockpit.

AlaskaAir flight 1599 took off from the Palm Springs at 7:30 pm. The plane landed safely on a runway at LAX at a little after 8:30 pm.

No word at this time on what may have caused the problem.
