Missing hiker found alive after several day search
UPDATE 7:35 PM:
Palm Springs Police confirmed they found 75-year-old Roger Dannen alive on a ridge by a Riverside County Sheriff’s helicopter.

On Friday, authorities identified 75-year-old Roger Dannen, of Oregon as the hiker who went missing on Wednesday as he was hiking the Indian Canyons Trail in Palm Springs.
According to Palm Springs Police, Dannen and a friend began their hike from an area of Highway 74 at Cedar Springs Trail and were last in communication with each other at the Garnet Trail or West Fork area.
His hiking partner, described as a 65-year-old man, alerted Palm Springs police about Dannen’s disappearance at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.
Palm Springs Police are continuing search efforts and consider this as a critical missing person’s case.
The Palm Springs Mounted Police Search & Rescue searched terrain on foot and by helicopter.
On Thursday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Patrol used aircrafts during their search effort.
Palm Canyon and Acanto –one of the entrances to the Indian Canyons Trail — was closed off Thursday. On Friday, the road was no longer blocked off, according to a crew on scene.
