Two suspected gang members arrested for Indio shootings
Two suspected gang members were arrested Wednesday for their alleged role in a string of shootings and assaults in Indio.
Jackson Terrace gang member Cristian “Lil Downer” Yanez and Joel Vargas were arrested by members of the Indio Police Department’s Street Crime Unit after several search warrants were served.
According to authorities, the crimes were committed in Indio between Jan. 7 and Jan 14.
Officers recovered two firearms along with evidence linking them to the crimes. Both men were booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for numerous felonies.
