Mother and son identified in Coachella murder-suicide
The Riverside County Coroner’s office identified the deceased mother and son in an apparent murder-suicide as 36-year-old Alejandro Alvarez and 56-year-old today.
On Friday, KESQ & CBS Local 2 first reported the victims’ familial connection.
On Thursday night at approximately 5:44 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Thermal station responded to a call at the Cedar Springs apartment complex on the 53000 block of Cesar Chavez Street in Coachella. Upon arriving, they discovered a scene of an apparent murder-suicide.
The call to law enforcement was placed by a son of Lourdes Guillen Alvarez, a younger brother of Alejandro Alvarez.
No further details have been released relating to the investigation at this time.
