Vallarta Supermarkets opens first Riverside County location in Indio
Vallarta Supermarkets is opening its first Riverside County location on Wednesday morning in Indio.
The store at 42425 Jackson St. will open at 8 a.m. following a ribbon-cutting ceremony that Indio Mayor Glenn Miller and members of the company's executive team are scheduled to attend.
The first 200 customers will receive a goody bag at the door.
Construction on the 37,000-square-foot market began in June, and finishing touches are still being added, according to Lorena Alamillo, a company spokeswoman.
The Indio location is the Los Angeles County-based company's first to feature a tap room and service bar, where customers can order cocktails and Latin American-inspired food.
Founded in 1985, Vallarta Supermarkets is a privately owned grocery chain with 52 locations throughout central and southern California.
