24-year-old man identified in Cathedral City homicide investigation

The Cathedral City Police Department is investigating the death of a 24-year-old man as a homicide.

Police say that officers responded to the 68800 block of Ramon Road regarding an assault victim. Officers arrived and located an adult male on the sidewalk with major injuries.

The fire department was called to assist and provided life-saving measures. The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No other information was available at this time. The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.

Officers closed off Avenida Del Yermo between Ramon Road and Aliso Road for several hours to conduct an investigation.

The victim was identified as Ricardo Aguilar, 24, of Cathedral City.
