Palm Desert Bank Branch Robbed Again
PALM DESERT – A man described as having a very swollen face robbed a Palm Desert bank Wednesday afternoon, marking the second time the branch has been targeted within the past three weeks, authorities said.
The man, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash from Canyon National Bank at 74150 Country Club Drive around 4 p.m., said Herlinda Valenzuela of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
A witness told authorities the suspect appeared to have a swollen face, Valenzuela said.
He was also described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing around 170 pounds, with short hair of an unknown color.
He was wearing a navy blue baseball cap with yellow lettering, dark sunglasses and a white long-sleeve shirt with a blue short sleeve shirt over it with “Palm Springs” lettering.
The same bank branch was robbed Dec. 18 by a man described as having “droopy cheeks.”
That robber, described as being in his 60s, presented a teller with a note demanding cash and fled on foot.
