Snow Fall In Idyllwild

IDYLLWILD – The snow that fell on Highway 74 in the out-lying areas of Idyllwild made road conditions dicey at best.

Snow plows were getting a workout.

Robert Garciahas been commuting to work from Hemet to Idyllwild for 15 years. He stopped on Highway 243 to put chains on his rear tires. Although not required at this point, after a few close calls over the years, Garcia haslearned when chains are a necessity.

“You know you get a little stubborn and you know I can make it up without chains,I can make it up without chains and you start fish tailing. All of a sudden you see yourself going over the hill.”

Meantime, the snow is good for business in Idyllwild. Merchants are expecting to see a big influx of tourists by the weekend.
