Woman Accused Of Stabbing Ex-Boyfriend In The Back

LA QUINTA -A Coachella woman was taken into custody today for allegedly stabbing her ex-boyfriend in the back, a sheriff’s sergeant said.

Megan Stevens, 23, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon around 2:30 a.m. at a La Quinta home in the 55000 block of Laurel Valley Way, said Sgt. Anthony Baur of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Stevens is accused of entering the through an unlocked front door with two other women, who had planned to confront the victim about some “domestic issues,” according to Baur.

While in the home, Stevens allegedly became upset and began hitting her ex-boyfriend and throwing items in the house. Refusing to leave, she grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him in the back, the sergeant alleged.

A friend called 911, and Stevens was taken into custody.

The victim, whose name was not released, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital, Baur said.

The other two women were released pending further investigation.
