Driver And Construction Worker Treated After Accident

A construction worker hit by a vehicle today on a Palm Desert roadway was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, as was the motorist, a sheriff’s deputy said.

The crash on Hovely Lane, east of Cook Street, was reported at 8:09 a.m., said Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

An eastbound vehicle struck the construction worker, then slammed into a work truck, Valenzuela said.

Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to Valenzuela.
