Read John Benoit’s Statement on the Election Count

Supervisor John J. Benoit offers the following statement on the election:

?I am deeply concerned that Riverside County voters, yet again, had to wait for hours to get their election results Tuesday night. Early vote-by-mail results, expected to be posted around 8:15 p.m., were released more than an hour after polls closed. The first report to the Secretary of State?s office came in at 11:30 p.m., last only to Ventura County.

?Riverside County citizens deserve better than what they?ve gotten in the last few years of elections in Riverside County. I will call for a review of these delays at next Tuesday?s Board of Supervisors meeting. At this meeting, we will hopefully have a more complete analysis of what occurred and can begin weighing our options.?
