Victim Refuses To Press Charges After Indio Shooting

Indio police are clearing the scene after they surrounded a neighborhood Tuesday afternoon after one person was shot.

The shooting happened around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Monte Verde and Olivera Street, according to Indio Police spokesman Ben Guitron.

Police surrounded the neighborhood near John Nobles, Monte Verde and Daisy Streets.

The person who was shot in the leg was transported to JFK Hospital in Indio. He told police he does not want to press charges against the gunman; he would not provide any more information to police.
