The City of Yucaipa and it’s Police Department will conduct a Candlelight Vigil in memory of Sheriff’s Detective Jeremiah MacKay.

MacKay was killed during a shootout with Christopher Dorner, who authorities say committed suicide inside a fire-gutted Big Bear cabin Tuesday.

The candlelight vigil will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 6pm. The vigil will be held in front of Yucaipa City Hall. 34272 Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa, CA 92399.

This memorial is open to all who wish to attend and honor the 15-year veteran of the department.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department also announced Sunday the location and date of MacKay’s funeral. A statement from the department said services would be held in San Bernardino Thursday February 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at the San Manuel Amphitheatre at 2575 Glen Helen Parkway.
