Teen receives minor burns in Cathedral City house fire

A house fire ignited Saturday morning in Cathedral City on the 68000 block of Marina Road near Avenida La Paz and Tachevah Drive.

The Cathedral City Fire Department was called to the scene at 10:49 a.m.

According to officials, a room caught fire in a bedroom in the back of the home. One teenager was treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

“It was a warm day today so you have to take that into concern for our firefighters, but there’s no firefighter injuries on this incident, it was a pretty straight-forward room and contents fire that the guys were able to knock down quickly”, said Cathedral City Fire Battalion Chief Eric Hauser.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
