Overnight roadwork to close lanes

Lanes of two valley thoroughfares will be closed Tuesday morning for asphalt repair, the Coachella Valley Water District announced Monday.

Starting about 2 a.m., water district employees will do the repairs and are expected to wrap up by 9 a.m., according to the water district.

Two southbound lanes of Washington Street will be closed from Fred Waring Drive to Miles Avenue, and Miles Avenue will be closed in both directions between Warner Trail and Washington, according to the water district.

Motorists should use Fred Waring or Highway 111 as alternate routes. The work is related to sewer repairs in the area, according to the water district.
