Valley youth tackle bullying at special needs baseball event

Three local youth organizations, including Kelsey’s Heroes, BOO2bullying and Palm Springs Youth Charity teamed up for Baseball Days Sunday.

They hosted a special needs baseball tournament at the Palm Springs Stadium to celebrate diversity and spread awareness to tackle bullying and increase tolerance for those with special needs.

The event featured baseball play time, food and Ex-pro stars Jim Lefebvre, Charlie Joiner, Al Geiberger, Kurt Bevacqua, Paul Warfield and more.

Kelsey’s Heroes aims to provide every child, regardless of special needs, the opportunity to participate in America’s pastime of baseball and softball.

BOO2bullying is to create an initiative between schools and parents about the acceptance of diversity and tolerance.

Palm Springs Youth Charities awards scholarships to disadvantaged children at Palm Springs High School.
