CHP investigates woman’s death on HWY 62

A 20-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a pickup truck on Highway 62 early Saturday morning.

The California Highway Patrol said the pedestrian from Yucca Valley was standing in the eastbound No. 1 lane of he highway, just east of White Feather Road at about 6:15 a.m.

A 67-year-old man from Cabazon was driving a Ford F-150 eastbound at about 45-50 MPH, according to the CHP. The woman was struck by the pickup and died at the scene.

The crash is currently under investigation. The victim hasn’t been identified yet.
