Missing at-risk man from DHS found safe

A Desert Hot Springs man with schizophrenia has been found after disappearing from his board and care facility over a week ago.

Gregory Walls walked away from his facility on November, 10, and hadn’t been heard from since.

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department released information Thursday morning saying Walls was located by the sheriff’s department and he is safe. He is currently in Indio at a mental health facility.

Officers didn’t say where Wall was found or where he had been for the past week.

Police he’s been known to leave the facility in the past. His family members said he will lie about his name to officials to avoid identification.

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department wants to thank those who called the station with information regarding his whereabouts.
