BNP Paribas Open: First round play underway; Rafa Nadal addresses media, dazzles fans at practice
The first round of play is underway at Indian Wells!
Both men's and women's singles matches were taking place throughout a busy Thursday at the BNP Paribas Open.

For seeded players like Rafa Nadal, they don't have to worry about getting through the first round, earning a BYE as the No. 4 seed.
For the Spaniard, Thursday was about practice and media obligations.
"Feels good. I have been here for more than a week, so I always enjoy it as everyone knows this is one of my favorite tournaments without a doubt," said Nadal. "I have been practicing, playing some golf and enjoying the good weather here."

The 21-time grand slam champion showed off for spectators Thursday morning during practice, then followed up by entertaining the media by answering questions.
"I'm enjoying everyday and trying to stay with the right attitude and keep enjoying that I am playing well and winning matches," said Nadal. "Already have won three titles this year which is something that is amazing for me. So trying to enjoy one of the best tournaments here in Indian Wells."
Nadal is seeking his first title at this tournament in 9 years, last winning at Indian Wells in 2013.
