Small brush fire burning near water park contained

The Palm Springs Fire Department has contained a small brush fire that was burning near the Wet and Wild Water Park Thursday afternoon.

The small brush fire started just before 2:45 p.m. and was burning in the wash off of Gene Autry Trail near the water park and public golf course in that area.

Crews were able to contain the blaze a little over an hour later. The fire did come close to the water park, but no structures were damaged and there are no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
