Man identified in deadly motorcycle collision

Indian Canyon Drive and Rosa Parks were re-opened Wednesday night after a deadly motorcycle crash.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 learned the motorcyclist was driving southbound on Indian Canyon Drive when the driver of a pickup truck collided with him while turning left onto Rosa Parks Road.

The collision happened around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday and the motorcyclist was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center where he later died from his injuries, according to police.

The victim has been identified by the family as Jacob Lutzker. He is survived by his wife and three sons.

The driver of the pickup truck is cooperating with police as they continue to investigate the collision.

Officers said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Jacob Lutzker’s family will be having a public viewing is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 8 , 2015 at Wiefels and Son Mortuary, Palm Springs. A funeral service will be held at the mortuary at 9 a.m. Friday, October 9 , 2015, followed by interment at Desert Memorial Park, Cathedral City.
