Gene Autry Trail is now OPEN between I-10 and Via Escuela after windy conditions and blowing sand closed the road on Sunday due to low visibility.

Strong winds whipped across the Coachella Valley Sunday. The Palm Springs Police Department shutdownGene Autry Trail between Via Escuela & I-10 because of blowing sand and zero visibility.

Police advise you to avoid N Gene Autry and use alternate routes until the road reopens.

Indian Canyon remains open in Palm Springs.
