Teens suspected of prowling arrested in DHS

Two teenagers were arrested in Desert Hot Springs on Tuesday after a married couple reported them to police for prowling near their backyard.

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department was called to the 12300 block of Via Loreto just after 1 p.m. Officers said the victim’s husband confronted the two Hispanic boys after they were seen looking into their backyard and attempting to jump the wall.

The teenagers ran away and the man followed them to Via Real and Ironwood Drive, officers said in a release. Police found the boys and detained them while the victim identified them as the suspects peering into his backyard.

Both teens were arrested and later booked into Juvenile Hall in Indio, according to Desert Hot Springs police.
