Man arrested with ammo, taser & methamphetamine

A man and woman were arrested Friday night after deputies with the Morongo Basin Station determined they had multiple arrest warrants.

Landers resident Isaac Ayala, 25, was stopped while driving in the 5700 block of Sunfair Road at about 11:45 p.m. Deputies said they saw a BB pistol sticking out from under the seat and they thought it was a handgun.

Ayala was detained and deputies found out he had three active arrest warrants totaling $210,000 and a fourth warrant for no bail. After searching his vehicle, deputies found ammunition, a taser and methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s release.

Ayala was booked into the Morongo Bain Jail with no bail.

His passenger, 35-year-old Shannon Coelho of Hemet, was wanted out of Riverside County and was arrested on the outstanding warrant on $50,000 bail. She was taken to the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
