Stolen car found in Palm Desert

Police have found a vehicle stolen out of Cathedral City in a carjacking Thursday afternoon, according to investigators.

The yellow Dodge Challenger was located along Highway 111 in Palm Desert.

Officers were found dusting the car for prints around 8:30 a.m. Friday in the parking of Staples, across from the Westfield Shoppingtowne.

Cathedral City police reported Thursday that a man with a knife reached through a driver’s side window, threatening the motorist.

It happened near Buddy Rogers and Allen Drive.

The driver was not hurt, but the suspect got away with the yellow Dodge Challenger.

Officers in Palm Desert have not said whether they have the suspect in custody.

He’s been described as a white man in his early 30’s, about 5’9”, 185 pounds. He has medium length hair, with a black mustache and goatee. He was last seen wearing baggy black shorts.
