Undefeated middleweights to fight at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino

Undefeated middleweights Hugo “The Boss” Centeno Jr. and Gerardo “Tin Tin” Ibarra will fight in the scheduled 10-round main event of a boxing card at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio Friday night.

Centeno of Oxnard is 20-0, with 11 knockouts. Ibarra (14-0, 8 KOs) of Houston, replaced Domonique Dolton (14-0, 8 KOs) as Centeno’s opponent after Dolton suffered a hand injury in training.

“Boxing is about opportunities and this is a great platform to showcase my talent on a national network,” Ibarra said.

In the co-main event, undefeated Eddie Gomez (16-0, 10 KOs) of New York City will fight Francisco Santana (19-3-1, 9 KOs) of Santa Barbara in a scheduled 10-round super welterweight fight. Santana has won seven consecutive fights.

The doors will open at 2:30 p.m. and the first bout is set to start at 3 p.m.

Randy Caballero of Coachella, the No. 1-ranked contender for the International Boxing Federation bantamweight championship, will pose for pictures and sign autographs from 6-7 p.m. in the Special Events Center.

The main event and co-main event will be televised by Showtime, whose broadcast can be seen live at 7 p.m. by satellite television subscribers with access to its East Coast feed and on a delayed basis at 10 p.m. by cable television subscribers who receive the West Coast feed.
