Sunline works to ‘Fill the Bus’ for its 8th annual holiday food drive

SunLine Transit Agency is holding its 8th annual holiday food drive on Thursday, November 6 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Fill the Bus Food Drive helps feed the homeless and families in need during the holiday season. It’s easy to join in the effort by bringing in a few items from your pantry or by heading to the grocery store.

This year’s event will benefit The Narrow Door and Roy’s Desert Resource Center. The two organizations are supported by the generosity of Coachella Valley residents and all donations will be delivered to their facilities early Friday morning, according to organizers

SunLine will park three buses at different grocery stores in the Coachella Valley and the company hopes to break it’s previous record of 14 tons of donated food. SunLine invites the community to help Fill the Bus with non-perishable food items, frozen meats and other assorted trimmings for holiday meals. Organizers are also asking residents to donate new packaged toiletries, personal hygiene products, diapers and other household products.

Bus Locations:

Walmart – 34500 Monterey Avenue, Palm Desert
Stater Bros: 78630 Highway 111, La Quinta (Hwy 111 & Washington Street)
Ralphs: 1733 East Palm Canyon Drive, Smoke Tree Village Shopping Center, Palm Springs

KESQ News Channel 3 will be live throughout the day at the Walmart location. La Poderosa will also be broadcasting live from the event. We are proud sponsors of the event and encourage everyone to give a little bit this holiday season.
