Healing Field in need of more volunteers
The Healing Field needs more volunteers to help set up for Saturday’s ceremony at Patriot Park in Cathedral to honor the sacrifices made by military service members who were killed fighting for our freedom.
The 9th annual ceremony takes place Saturday, November 8 at 9 a.m., but Coordinator Betsy Hayes-Gonzalez said they really need volunteers on Friday at noon to set up for the event.
They need help carrying rebar to designated markers and help slamming rebar as well. Hayes-Gonzalez said the work is not as hard as it sounds and the help would be much appreciated on this very important day.
She also said they need students and volunteers to carry and place flags on the field and read names of fallen soldiers. This year they will have two podiums so the event should run smoother than in previous years.
Coordinators want as many people as possible to come out and enjoy the ceremony on Saturday as we remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Patriot Park is located at the northeast corner of Date Palm Drive and Dinah Shore Drive, adjacent to Big League Dreams Sports Park and the Cathedral City Library.
