Pet owners in Palm Desert advised to keep close eye on pets this weekend

Fireworks planned for this weekend near Palm Desert may scare off some pets.

The Bighorn Golf Club will be hosting a private party on Sunday with a fireworks show expected to follow the party.

The light show is set to last about 15 minutes between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday.

It could disturb pets in south Palm Desert.

The SPCA advises pet owners to keep their dogs and cats at home in a quiet, sheltered, and escape-proof area during the fireworks display.
