View road closures for Greater Palm Springs Pride Festival

As many as 20,000 residents and visitors are expected in Palm Springs this weekend for the 2014 Greater Palm Springs Pride Festival and Parade. This year’s theme is “I am Pride: Stonewall 45.”

The festivities are set for Friday, November 7 through Sunday, November 9. There will be some road closures in place around Palm Springs throughout the weekend.

The Arenas Road Block Party takes place on Arenas Road between Calle Encilia and Indian Canyon Drive. It’s happening on Friday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Pride Festival takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Palm Canyon Drive between Amado Road and Baristo Road.

The Tea Dance is happening on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tahquitz Canyon Way between Palm Canyon Drive and Indian Canyon Drive.

The Pride Parade starts at 10 a.m. Sunday and marches from Tacheva Drive south to Amado Road. The parade is expected to last two hours with 160 entries.

Street closures:

Arenas Road between Calle Encilia and Indian Canyon will be closed starting at 6 a.m. on Friday and will reopen by 3 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10
Palm Canyon between Amado and Baristo will close starting at 10 p.m. Friday and will reopen by 3 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10
Palm Canyon between Vista Chino and Alejo will be closed by 5:30 a.m. Sunday for pre-stage of the parade
Palm Canyon between Alejo and Amado closes at 9 a.m. Sunday for the parade
The cross streets of Alejo and El Alameda will remain open until 10 a.m. Sunday, then close for the parade
Palm Canyon will be open from Vista Chino to Amado by 2 p.m. Sunday
