Vigil planned for popular Desert Hot Springs chef killed in motorcycle wreck

A popular Desert Hot Springs chef will be remembered at a vigil on Friday.

53-year-old Tyrone Love Jr. of Palm Desert was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car Thursday night in Desert Hot Springs near Little Morongo Road and 15th Avenue.

Love was the chef at Capri Restaurant at the Miracle Springs Hotel.

He worked there for 12-years.

Family and his many friends will hold a candlelight ceremony to celebrate his life Friday at 6:45 p.m. near the crash site.

A GoFundMe account has raised more than 2,000 over the past few days.

Love leaves behind a family of eight.

The money raised will help his wife.
