Big rig overturns on I10, hurting one

California Highway Patrol says a big rig overturned on the I-10 westbound just before 5 a.m. Sunday, leaving one person with major injuries.

It happened a few miles past the Cactus City rest stop in the Mecca area.

Initial reports said the big rig was leaking fuel onto the interstate, and the driver was trapped in the cab.

CHP opened one lane, while the other was still closed hours later.

There is no update on the person’s condition at this time. Those heading into the Coachella Valley onto the I-10 will experience delays.
