Security in place for New Year’s Eve celebrations

With so many people expected in downtown Palm Springs for New Year’s Eve event organizers are making sure security is stepped up to ensure party-goers are safe.

Organizers with Party with BB say their celebration at Temple Isaiah will have armed private security all over. They will be placed inside and outside to ensure there are eyes everywhere. All guests will be checked for any outside alcohol and weapons before entering. Organizers say they want to ensure every guest is safe while they have a good time.

“We’ve only brought in the best. We’ve brought in security that’s been trained from here to Israel and we just want to make sure that when people come to this venue, the security is elevated,” Chris Spellman, an organizer of the celebration, said.

About a thousand people are expected for the celebration at Temple Isaiah, and Spellman also wanted to remind people to not drink and drive.

Palm Springs Police will also be out in force with extra patrols according to Sgt. Mike Casavan, and will be deployed at the Spa Resort and Casino for that celebration.
