High-speed pursuit goes through I-10, several valley cities

Police conducted a high-speed pursuit Friday night that went through several Coachella Valley cities.

Viewers reported seeing multiple police units chase a vehicle in Desert Hot Springs, along Interstate 10, Cathedral City and Palm Springs. Some viewers called into the newsroom to report seeing between 8 and 20 police units chase the vehicle at a time.

Desert Hot Springs Assistant City Manager/Public Information Officer Doria Wilms confirmed the pursuit started within the city, on Paul Road and Palm Drive, at approximately 8:06.

Wilms told News Channel 3 that Desert Hot Springs police officers were in pursuit of a wanted suspect.

The pursuit ended on Rosa Parks Road, in front of First Baptist Church, in Palm Springs at approximately 8:50 p.m. Wilms confirmed the suspect was taken into custody.
