Homicide investigation underway in Palm Springs
Friday night, Palm Springs Police were on the scene of a homicide investigation.
Police closed Rosa Parks Road between El Dorado Blvd and Eastgate Road, as well as Granada between Rosa Parks Road and Sunview Ave.
Captain Mike Kovaleff with the Palm Springs Police Department said that they responded around 6:30 p.m. Friday night.
Kovaleff said that when officers arrived, they discovered that a car had crashed into a power pole and the lines were still live.
Police discovered one victim in the car, and when they tried to remove him, they discovered he was the victim of a homicide.
Southern California Edison was reporting a power outage in the Desert Highland Gateway Estates neighborhood, impacting at least 165 customers.
Kovaleff said that Palm Springs Detectives, Riverside County Sheriff's Department forensics, and Southern California Edison were all on scene.
